A Message from our Development Director, Matt McGee

Our hearts are full of gratitude for the remarkable progress and achievements we've witnessed at House of Cherith over the past few months. We have quite a bit to celebrate and share with you.

Several significant developments have strengthened our ability to serve survivors of trafficking and exploitation:

  • The opening of our Emergency Care Center (ECC) now provides 24/7 access to care for those in urgent need, adding 14 new rooms to our total housing capacity.

  • A generous $500,000 grant from Chick-fil-A will support this expansion effort, allowing us to reach more survivors and reach them sooner.

  • We're also honored to be nominated for Chick-fil-A's True Inspiration Award, recognizing our impact in the community. (Be sure to vote for House of Cherith in the Chick-fil-A app!)

  • We launched our Young Leaders Board, bringing fresh perspectives and new networks to our mission.

  • Our partners at MOST set a Guinness World Record for the longest softball game ever, raising awareness and crucial funds to combat trafficking.

We are so honored by the growing recognition of our work and the support we're receiving to further help women, girls, and families find freedom and hope. We're not just providing shelter and resources; we're restoring faith, self-worth, and hope to those who have endured unimaginable hardships. Over the past ten years, the lives transformed through our program stand as a testament to its effectiveness. However, our work is far from over.

Countless women, girls, and children still need our care and support. Our primary limitation is not our methodology or dedication but our capacity to fund this critical work. To reach more survivors and offer them a chance at a new life, we must expand our network of supporters.

Recently, a grantmaker asked how House of Cherith impacts the Kingdom of God. We responded with a resident's testimony that captures the heart of our mission:

"House of Cherith has given me my self-worth back. I know without a shadow of a doubt that God sent me here so I can be surrounded by women of strong faith, showing me how I am worthy, that my life matters, and that if I only trust and obey him, all that was taken, all that was lost would be restored to me. The impact that House of Cherith has given me is one of restoring my faith, loving me when I couldn't love myself, and teaching me how my hopes and dreams are possible when I surrender totally all my hurts, habits, and hangups to God and let him clean me from the inside out."

Please don't miss out on being a part of stories like this. Imagine the women and girls who will arrive at House of Cherith over the next ten years. Now imagine how their lives will change, the healing that will take place, and the hope that will be restored.

How might your involvement not only change the lives of survivors but also deepen your own understanding of love, hope, and God's restorative power?

Emergency Care Center

House of Cherith is thrilled to announce its partnership with The Freedom Collective in the launch of a new Emergency Care Center (ECC) dedicated to supporting women and families affected by sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, and domestic violence.

The Emergency Care Center, located in Atlanta, will provide crucial crisis and stabilization services to women, families, and minors. The Freedom Collective will offer a 24-hour hotline and transportation services to assist women and families in urgent situations. Concurrently, House of Cherith will provide emergency stabilization in a secure, residential environment around the clock. This new initiative allows us to reduce our waitlist for families and single moms, ensuring more immediate access to critical care.

House of Cherith Clay Shoot Tournament

We hope you will join us for the House of Cherith Sporting Clay Tournament at Foxhall Resort in Douglasville, GA! You will enjoy a fun day of shooting with friends old and new, while competing on Foxhall's station sporting clays course.

Proceeds from this tournament will benefit House of Cherith. Your support will provide safe housing and supportive services where women, families, and young girls can recover from the trauma of exploitation, empowering survivors to reclaim their dignity and self-worth, renew their faith in humanity, and rekindle their passion for a lifetime of success.

Story of Hope

“Nothing distinguishes me from the countless thousands of other women who have years of trauma, abuse, addiction, and mental illness, except that God has chosen to preserve me for such a time as this!

Since coming to the House of Cherith, for the first time in my life, I can honestly say that I love myself. The lies Satan whispered in my ear as a young child, "You are worthless", "You should just die," and "nobody loves you" NO longer hold power over me. Strongholds are being broken, chains are coming off, and I am being set free!

My mind is being renewed and I can see that truth...I am a child of God and He loves me unconditionally. I no longer see God as a cruel taskmaster, but as a loving father who rejoices over me! I've put on the righteousness of God, and no longer struggle to be "good enough." God says I'm worthy, not because of anything I could ever do, but because of what Jesus has already done. I am learning to "be still and know that He is God." There is so much freedom in surrender.

I can think of no better way to pay back what I have been so freely given than to be a light in this increasingly darkening world. It is an honor to be chosen to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to simply love.

Thank you, Lord - and thank you House of Cherith!”
