Mommy and Me Program

Statistics show that the majority of trafficked and exploited individuals are introduced at a young age by a close family member or friend. This makes it extremely difficult for women to leave their children in pursuit of their own healing and recovery. Our goal is to deliver safe and sustainable long-term housing and care to both mothers and their children to help them recover from their trauma and promote healthy family relationships.

Our Family Support services provide an opportunity for women to overcome their trauma alongside their children and to break the generational cycles of abuse, addiction, and pain. Families who graduate from House of Cherith Mommy and Me are:

  • Substance and alcohol-free

  • Emotionally stable

  • Holding a steady job

  • Are able to be reunified with family (if deemed safe)

  • Have visited the dentist for an annual cleaning

  • Have visited the doctor for an annual physical

  • Feel safe in their new environment

  • Have access to reliable transportation

  • Enrolled in school or childcare

Restoring Hope and Building Family Relationships

Learn how Mommy and Me helped to bring restoration to ‘J’ and her family.

“When I arrived at HOC, I was a broken mother of two who had endured 10 years of being in an abusive marriage which stole everything. In my despair, I turned to drugs. I lost my career, vehicle, and became a criminal in an effort to keep my home, my kids, and support my habit.

Gratefully, it led me to jail, which put me on a path to HOC. Upon arrival, I didn't believe there was any good left in the world.

HOC welcomed me with love modeled from God. They didn't judge me; they listened, they fed me, and they clothed me. They led classes teaching me about self-love, healthy communication, budgeting, and mental health.

HOC ignited my yearning to know God and restored my trust in myself to be the safe, loving person I once was.... but only this time, it was better. I am now employed, living with my daughter at HOC Mommy and Me. It took a little over two years to get to this point, but they have supported me every step. I am hopeful, I am loving, and I am loved.”
