Ashley’s Story of Hope

I came to House of Cherith in November 2019. Earlier that year I came as a volunteer in July not knowing I’d be coming back as a resident. I was always passionate about helping others with similar stories as mine, but never thought about getting the help I needed.

Earlier that year I was sexually assaulted and was completely broken. I had a case that was going that was dropped due to not having enough evidence. This triggered me from past traumas in my life. So I was at my breaking point and was ready to end my life.

My church asked Kelsi if they had any open beds and the next thing I knew I was on my way to Atlanta. I’m so thankful I gave House of Cherith a chance because it changed my life completely. I work for the City of Refuge as a Pre-school teacher for two-year-olds. I go to Georgia State University where I am pursuing a degree in psychology and social work. I have my own apartment. I am learning how to cook for myself. I am back in the gym doing what I love.

It was an incredible experience that I will never forget.”
